A new year...fresh objectives

Last year, I thought that I would be a regular on blogging. However, it was not to be. Now halfway into this year, I plan to restart my blogging experience once again. The objectives are two fold -

a. Get my writing skills back.

b. Get my comprehending skills back

Lets analyze either of the objectives. Writing skills is something that gets honed over the school days by writing innumerable essays. However, once school is done with and we step into the real world, this skill is all but lost. In my line of work i.e. in software engineering, I am unable to write anything substantial. If I am asked to express my thoughts in code format, I am sure that I will be able to do a good job at it. However, to put it in all its profoundity (ok..ok...I am flattering myself over here) in prose is difficult. Anyways, here's to a fresh start (hic hic).

Point two is another drawback of a job that requires only technical skills. Comprehension to me is to understand a technology. Not that I don't make efforts to look at stuff outside my work interests. However, it is difficult to retain the information that I gather. I plan to use this blog as a way of expressing some of these thoughts that have nothing to do with optical or ethernet networking.

Till date, I hated writing rambling blogs. But now I think that the effort at perfection is another factor which made me not want to write blogs. So here to a new blogging experience where I plan to rave and rant and occasionally raise a few good points (hic hic hurray...)
